Twins.

I want twins, they do not have to be identical, I will accept fraternal, but I need a twin pair of nightstands. I've been on the HUNT for a good month for the perfect nightstands for our Master Bedroom. I've searched thrift stores, Craigslist, Goodwill, yard sales, Homegoods... You name it, I've been there. I do not want to spend a small fortune on nightstands, after all, all I want it for is a lamp, pretty frame, and my glass of water at night. Why must it be so difficult?

Here is some inspiration from my heart:

I love the mirrored look, these make the room instantly feel dramatic and elegant. I think I might refurb our dresser to have the mirrored look. I also LOVE how big these are. we have a big wall, so taking up space could be nice!

Does this not look like a little desk made into a nightstand? I just love this room period.

How stinking cute is this? I love the leggy detail, however at $700 a pop these will not be coming to our house.

I LOVE how tall these are! We need tall because our bed is pretty tall. But again, at $400 a pop, I do not think so...

This is actually one of my favorites and all she did was change up a HomeGoods Find! Check out her neat blog with the link above! I love her Target bedding too.

Identical Twins... siiiiigh.

So show me what you have standing next to your bed! Would love to see what works for you!

Happy HUMP day!

The Sickness.

I got hit with the sickness pretty hard recently, in fact it's lasted a couple of months. I know, you know, what I am talking about. The sleepless nights wondering if I should DIY my striped curtains or buy them, the thrill of awaiting an email answer from a Craigslist offer, waking up before 7am on a Saturday morning to score old junk, even digging through a "trash" pile to find a treasure. Oh I've done it all, in spirit of my new hobby. I love turning trash to treasure by refurbing cheap & ugly furniture.

My first fever broke a few months ago when my lil sis, Kayli and I went to some garage sales at the crack of dawn. She hated me for it but I kept feeding her gallons of Diet Coke and it made it ok. We were about to give up without ANY purchases for the day when I spotted one last yellow sign with arrows. We followed and I found this little baby for $5:

Kayli had just moved into her apartment and her desk needed a chair. It was like God knew that if I was ever going to drag Kayli to a garage sale again He better give her a good score. Thank you, Lord!

Anywho, the chair was HORRID, the picture makes it actually look better than it did in person. I cannot even describe to you the color it was and the faux spray paint texturing that was on it. It was just awful.

We headed to the fabric store and I bought her a yard of fabric for under $5 with a coupon. I thought she I could use scraps to maybe make a pillow or something. Kayli's room is hot pink and lime green so here is what we came up with:

We saved this chair's life- it would have been thrown away, I promise you or even worse, tortured to spend another day in those shoes. Kayli wanted to take the chair back and show the garage sale people what we did. She was so happy and so was I, oh yeah except for the sickness. I blame the sickness on this chair. I had so much fun and can't wait to show more projects off. I wish I knew to take pictures while we were "in the process" but never thought about it. Oh but I will now, for my blogger buds! I also will use a camera other than my phone- it's just so convenient!

Here it is in her room in all her glory. We still need some wall decor.

I am linking up to my FIRST ever blog at Thrifty Decor Chick's Before & After Party. So exciting, it's a monumental day for this young blog. Thrifty Decor Chick was the very first DIY decor blog I happened onto so it's exciting for me to share my first linky project with her even if she doesn't neccesarily see it! :-D
Wish me luck!

Poor Baby Jett

But score for the new house, who needs a name, hmm....

I went to Target Thursday to buy a wedding present for one of the weddings we are going to today and couldn't help but do my usual browsing for myself of course...

A few weeks ago I scored on some leather bar stools for only $13 each so I knew they've been allowing me to afford clearancing their items pretty well. You have to know how to walk the walk at Target and I definitely have walked that walk a time or two.

As I was looking for a wedding present furniture for us, I spotted the PERFECT bookshelf to go in our new kitchen. What what what red clearance sticker??? WHAT? $17 marked down from $69.99? GET IN MY BASKET!!
The box for this was bigger than my basket, but I managed, all by myself. You see, I couldn't call AOK, he's forbidden me to buy anything right now until we move in because we are running out of room to put stuff. He keeps telling me to wait until we are in the house, but all I hear is blah blah blah!

I round the corner and WAIT what was that?? A TV Stand to match?? RED STICKER ALERT, RED STICKER ALERT! $45.99 marked down from $199.99? GET IN MY BASKET!! Oh wait, there's no more room in my basket because of the END TABLES that match too RED STICKERED to $21.99 from $89.99.

Oh, excuse me sir, Mr. Target worker, could you please help me? I want to buy all this and it won't fit in my basket. Sure no problem, he says, what kind of car do you drive, I will help you bring it out.

Oh, yeah, about that, I drive a Jetta (affectionately called Baby Jett by me and those that love her). But she's empty and we can lay her seats down!

Oh yea, we made it work...
There is also a box of an End Table in the front seat...

AOK is going to KILL me, but I was absolutely NOT going to call him to come load this up, especially since it was forbidden fruit.

We are basically starting from scratch on furniture, which is fun, but expensive at the same time. Can't wait to show you guys the house and our plans for it. I'll introduce you to it over the next few posts.

In the meantime, any furniture scores for you guys? Anyone have a suggestion for a house name? I'm all about naming stuff!

Happy Weekend!
